An ode to my old enemy

I want these pangs to stop

But still feel the need

To light up a ciggie

And smoke the weed!

I don’t want to die

With my last wish a fag,

But at times, just lately,

All I want is a drag.

But I know that would start

The first link of a chain

And don’t want to go through

Giving up again!

My taste buds now normal

I enjoy all my eats

And instead of a puff

I much polo sweets!

I still feel the cravings

For that cancer stick

But determined this time

This habit I’ll kick.

This is my motto-

‘No thanks I don’t need need it’

But the smokers don’t know

It’s a battle of wits!
